EVENT CONTENT
OpeningThe "Meeting on the Path of Nursing" event, organised within the framework of the Scientific Activities of the Faculty of Nursing, was presented by Research Assistant Kemal Elyeli. The aim of the event is to bring students together with professionals who play a leading role in the field of nursing and are role models.
• Guest Speaker
Prof. Dr. Sultan Kav, who has 25 years of experience in nursing and is a member of many national and international organisations, was invited as a guest speaker. Prof. Sultan Kav has left a positive impact on nurses, students and oncology patients, especially in the field of oncology nursing.
• Education and Career Journey
Prof. Sultan Kav shared her nursing education and career journey, inspiring students to maximise their potential. She talked about her experiences in Turkey and abroad and her roles in national/international organisations.
• Nursing Practice and International Cooperation
Prof. Sultan Kav gave information about national and international opportunities and collaborations in nursing practice. She emphasised the importance of nurses specialising in their own fields and being active at the international level.
• Question and Answer and Participant Relations
The event continued with the participants asking questions to Prof. Sultan Kav and other speakers. Information was exchanged on topics such as nursing practice, education, international co-operation and career opportunities.
Achievements of the Event
1. Professional Development and Networking: Participants will understand the positive impact that networking and membership of various organisations, both nationally and internationally, can have on career development and how such connections and membership can be beneficial in terms of professional development, knowledge and skills acquisition.
2. Clinical Practice and Certification: Participants will understand the differences between nursing practice and certification requirements in different countries and learn how to integrate into practice in their own countries.
3. Patient and Family Relationships: Participants will understand the challenges of working in the field of oncology nursing and the importance of relationships with patients and their families in this field. They will also learn strategies to improve their empathy and communication skills.
4. Career Planning: Participants will understand the various stages that can be encountered in the nursing career journey and the strategic decisions that can be made during these stages. They will also learn how to identify their own career goals and plan the steps necessary to achieve these goals.
5. Understanding Professional Ethics: Students will understand the importance of professional ethics in nursing practice and how this ethics should be applied in terms of patient care, patient safety and professional responsibilities.
